The SLB's purpose is to provide additional sick leave days to bank members in the event of an unexpected extended major physical or mental disability that is a life-threatening or catastrophic injury or illness.

• Only after using up all accrued state and local sick leave days can a member request SLB days.

• The illness or injury will only qualify if it is an unexpected extension of a temporary disability leave, as verified by a physician.
