My name is Nikeda Fowler and I am honored to be Olle Middle School’s Theatre and Dance Director. I have taught English, music, theatre, and dance since 2010. Also, I taught theatre in Beijing, China for two years. My pre-professional career began as a decorated member of the National Forensic League (currently the National Speech and Debate Association). I have been featured in television and film media, several Broadway-style productions, and toured with professional dance companies.
I am provided the greatest pleasure in teaching when a student’s light bulb of comprehension, application, and analysis increases in wattage! This can only happen when an atmosphere of trust, nurture and genuine care for their learning is displayed. I believe in a balance of structured lessons and the freedom of self-discovery. Through the layering of technical exercises and encouragement, I have a keen ability to maximize students’ strengths, unveil their opportunities, and provide a foundation for growth.
It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and intelligent educator who will help the Owls of Olle Middle School and its community continue to fly towards success!
During my intermission from teaching, I enjoy traveling far & wide, interior design, abstract painting, and pretending that I can sing!
