Hi, my name is Laura Esparza, and I am in my second school year as head choir director of Olle MS Owls at Alief ISD. I am originally from Mexico City; Mexico and I began my music education at Texas A&M Kingsville. I transferred to the University of Houston my Junior Year. I worked through college teaching private clarinet lessons in the Alief and Fort Bend. I received my Bachelor's degree in Indiscipline Studies with a focus in Music and History from the University of Houston.
This is my 22nd year in education teaching K-12 grade. For the first seven years, I taught at Boone Elementary & 13 years at Thomas Elementary LCISD. Secondary experience at Rice CISD as assistant JH & HS band director as well as head director of Choirs.
I have been married for 27 years to my wonderful husband, Louis Esparza. I am a mother of one, Ethan Esparza. I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, volunteering with my son’s swim team R & R Aquatics, and as a band Mom at Randle HS in LCISD. During my time off, I enjoy playing my clarinet with Sugarland Winds.
