Mr. Hughes is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in 2001. Although Mr. Hughes’ musical experience includes being national and international renown as a performer, composer, and arranger, his love has and will always be the school band setting. After many years of directing, performing, and recording music in every region of the U.S. and abroad, Mr. Hughes became the Band Director of Olle Middle School in Spring 2020. It is with great pleasure that he is now proud to be a Mighty Owl!.
As a student of legendary music teachers, Mr. Hughes was instilled with the principle of high expectation at all times. All students are encouraged to experience music and musical performance, based on an earnest effort in personal preparation. The Olle Band will surely be a force to contend with for many years to come!
